I think I'd rather have bots than no users because of that captcha ;)

Next gen of captchas: answer audio questions asked using such ridiculous slang/redneck accent that no computer would ever understand wtf you were talking about.
Of course then you would only get rednecks...

captcha: qxdtzjaz. catchy.

Is it bad if I fail half of the captcha tests I see?

I would rather have artificially intelligent robots posting on my blog than half the dullards who do.

Perhaps just a difficult question should be the captcha, thus weeding out dumb computers and dumb humans alike.

What about a captcha that asks an actual question?

"Name the third planet in our solar system"

"What is the plural of the word Apple?"

You could make it as difficult as you want, to prevent the 13 year olds from posting (though it'll probably turn up on Yahoo! answers quickly enough)

But unless you had a team of people reading and approving these responses around the clock, you would need a computer program that could analyze whether the humans' descriptions of love were correct. And if it could do that...

I always have a moment of doubt when I'm asked to provide one word to describe a picture. Will everyone else see cows, or will they see a farm? Those ones I get right though. Phew!

When all I have to do is to recognise and type in letters and numbers, my answer isn't always accepted. Maybe I'm half robot and just haven't realised it yet.

@alcari: the search function on www.ubuntuforums.com uses this type of 'real question' captcha.
